what they're saying:
“Sally has amazing interpersonal, organizational, and strategic skills. She went to great lengths to help me land a job, including: securing informational interviews for me, making sure I was well-prepared for those interviews, and promoting my skills to potential employers. I can't recommend her highly enough.”

Welcome to the Academy Package:
A Junior Faculty Career Development Program
This interactive longitudinal program is tailored to the needs of junior faculty. The goal is to support junior faculty in their career development and future success in achieving tenure.
The first several years in the Academy can be the most challenging and the choices you make lay the ground work for your success as you move toward your third year review and ultimately tenure. Investing in your career at the onset is investing in the ideal future you have worked hard to achieve. Most people find that when they work with an experienced career coach for an extended period of time they are better able to develop and adhere to their tenure timeline.
This package combines individual coaching, unlimited email, participation in webinars and access to a private forum with interviews and video clips with tenured faculty designed to provide you with the strategic guidance and support necessary for your academic career. The package begins in August and ends in April.
In order to provide each person with the personalized career coaching they deserve, this highly interactive career development program is limited to 15 participants.

You don't have to be a Dean to realize that no one likes being told what to do. Yet lectures are still the main way we try to get people to change their behavior. Fortunately, social learning academics have been studying alternatives for decades. Patterson and his fellow consultants have now documented their findings in this engaging, example-rich book of how to facilitate change among people you don't have authority over. Although the examples mostly relate to industry and medicine the strategies are applicable to Academia.
